Default 1999 Suburban A/C Leak at joint on Top of Compressor

I have a leak at the joint at the top of my compressor. My A/C did not want to be cold this year, so I added a can of Freon, I now see it leaking all over, and it is at the joint from the compressor to the lines. Looks like the seal is no longer sealing. It seems like a simpler mechanical fix as I imagine there are some O-rings to be replaced, and I'll be good to go, but do I need to have whatever Freon is left, vaccumed out, then replace the seal/o-ring, and then put the Freon back in? Or can I just unbolt it from the top, replace the orings, and add more Freon from a can from a store? That sounds too simple.

Thanks!

Welcome to the forum.

You will need to have the gas removed and then replace the o-rings. Then recharge the system. Depending on how much oil leaked out, they may need to add some. Let us know how it works out.
