Default 1999 Tahoe Odds and Ends

I have a 1999 tahoe that I'm selling for a friend, but it has a few problems I need to fix before I can sell it.

1 It has a coolant leak right below the serpentine belt in the direct center of the car. Is this the water pump going out?

2 The headlights are on all the time, whenever the car is running. You have to turn the **** to the on position to turn on the brights though.

3 I think a third row seat would be a huge added value to the car. Where do I find one to match and how much would it cost me.

Thanks, Gray

Welcome to the forum.

Are there socket fittings in the floor for a third row seat? If not, will be real expensive to add. If there are, then a trip to the salvage yard should get you a good seat.

1: possible. hard to say without following the trail.

2: likely a bad auto headlight sensor... seems to be the case in my '01 anyhow...

3: I couldn't tell ya other than to look at junkyards...

Thanks guys, I now I can add a third row now, but all I've been able to find is leather. I also got the headlight issue taken care of. Guess its time to find that leak.

I had a leak very similar to yours on my 99 suburban (5.7L). It was hard to tell where it was coming from but it did in fact turn out to be the water pump.

Intake manifold gaskets at the ends of the heads are notorious for letting loose.

I haven't been home long enough to tear into this thing yet, but with only 82,000 miles could the manifold gaskets already loosened up?
