Default 1999 Tail & Indicator Lights Won't Turn Off

I have a 1999 (old body style) k2500 and just started having issues with the hazard lights/tail lights. When I turn off the truck the Orange front lights and the tail lights as well. This drains the battery to zero in no time flat. The lights work when the engine is on, the daytime running lights work as they should, turn signals and hazard lights flash when engaged as they should. I have tried everything to get them to turn off when I turn the engine off and remove the key but they stay on (the headlights do turn off, just the cluster of light below the headlights and the tail lights stay on). Getting frustrated trying to figure this out. Can't drive it anywhere for when I turn it off and come back to it the lights will be on and the battery drained. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Sounds to me like it's the headlight switch. Contacts for the park lights are stuck closed.

Only way to fix that is replace the switch in the dash or can those be taken apart and "cleaned"? Thanks

I'm sure it can be taken apart and cleaned, but can it be put back together is another question. I don't know that answer. Good Luck.

Default Switch is not the issue

Got a new switch in (new, not used) and unless it is bad that is not he issue. Parking lights and tail lights still stay on. Any other thoughts?
Thanks

Let's try to rule out some things. Is the license plate light ON? Are there any other lights staying ON that shouldn't be ON?
Check to see which filament (park, turn or both) in the bulb is ON.
Do the lights go OFF when you pull the "PARK LPS" fuse?

I think you are hitting something here. The license plate lights are on and I just commented to my wife that it makes no sense to me why when I pull fuse 9 the parking lights, the tail lights, the license plate lights and if I do not have the rotor switch all the way down then the dash and other lights also stay on too.

Start pulling fuses to find out what circuit is (back)feeding the lights. You've got a tough puzzle there. Has there been any work done on the car about the same time this started occurring?

Sadly no work has been done (auto starter added several days later but it was acting up prior). Woke up in the working to lights on one day out of the blue. Have pulled most fuses but looks like I'll have to start pulling them all to figure this out.
