Default 2000 chevy suburban start problems

my suburban will turn on but once we turn it off and try to turn it back on it sounds like its out of gas. i've already changed the fuel filter, fuel pump, the regulator, air filter and the charcoal canister, turns on and drive's but if we turn it off it won't start for at least 20 to 30 minutes. autozone gave me the code -0449 but thats all i have to go on . just about to go crazy cause it's cost me a pretty penny , if any1 can help i would appreciate it

thanks in advance
john

449 is evap cannister vent valve solenoid, that could cause the problem you are having. It also is a 'fairly" common problem too.

jokester4769 Welcome to the forum,
Might try checking the fuel pressure just to rule out any blockage or any other fuel delivery issues... are you using E85? have the injectors been serviced? check the IAC ( idle air control) sticking EGR?
Kinda almost sounds like vapor lock...

I didn't think E85 was around in 2000?

Let me include this, I don't think E85 was available then, but I should add as Shark posted are you using E85 for the reasons he posted?

No, but it is now... and it could have inadvertently been put in.. I don't know if it would cause this issue but its something to eliminate...

Refer to post #2. The PCM (power train control module) regulates the rate of vapor flow to the intake by controlling the vent valve solenoid duty cycle. During cold start or hot start time delay it leaves the solenoid shut. After the engine is warmed up it purges the vapors into the manifold for combustion. That brief explaination AND code 0449 tells me the purge vent valve is not working as it should. I don't see the vent valve solenoid, but the valve is about 40 bucks at autozone. I'd say the solenoid is the issue not purging, or staying open (inoperative) as your issue.
