Default 2000 suburban faulty CKP or fuel pump..?? Need some help

Hey guys I've got a 2000 burb with what I believe is eitther an CKP issue or fuel pump. The other day I was heading to work (28 miles one way) when it stalled out and just died...No real warninig. Luckily I was able to pull off in a large industrial drive way while I assessed the situation. It would turn over but just wouldn't start. While I sat there making appropriate phone calls to work and wife to possible come asst me I tried one last time and it fired right up. was a total of maybe 10 mins probably 50-55 degrees out. Drove it the rest of way to work 7-8 miles with no issues whatsoever. No lights, CEL or anything came on.

well I ended up working my 12 hr shift and decided to chance it and head back home. Once again it drove great for about 20 miles until it decided to shut off again, once I hit a back road where the mph is 40 mph, around the speed it shut off the first time. this time however took much longer for the truck to start and when it did it barely ran, almost like it was either starvinig for fuel or missing on all but 1 cylinder. felt just like when a distributor gets put in 180 degrees out. bakfiring, misfiring, etc. after about 30 mis of failed attempts it finally started normal and ran like a well oiled machine (CEL came on this time)....for all of 1 mile, then out of nowhere the darn thing shut off again. By this point i had given up and called my wife to come pick me up so i could decide what I wanted to do. I locked the thing up and we headed home. Well after calling a couple tow trucks I knew that if I could just at least get it home i could save 100 bucs. So after about 30 mins i had my wife take my back to the truck to try again. low and behold it fired right up and i drove it home without a single issue.

I know if I could just make it into town i could see what code it threw but i'm worried it will shut off again and this time it won't start.

Well I ended up making it to the parts house and had it scanned. Only had 2 codes and they were both CKP codes. A local shop only gonna charge $60 bucs to put it in.
