2000 Tahoe Airbag Light/Crash Sensor
I have a 2000 Tahoe (new body) and the airbag light is constantly on when the truck is running. I had someone with a Tech II scanner read the codes and this is what it came back with:
-B0040 - Left Front/Driver Side Deployment Loop Resistance Low
-B0077 - Left Front/Driver Side Impact Sensor (SIS) Malfunction
I assume this means that left front sensor needs to be replaced.
I took a look underneath and saw one sensor in the center of the radiator cradle. It's part number is 16246305. GMPARTSDIRECT calls that a "front impact sensor". But the error code specifically says "left front".
Has anyone had any experience with this? Also, know where I can find part numbers/mounting locations?

As you may know, the DTCs point out an area to troubleshoot, not necessarily telling what component(s) need replacing. The FSM details extensive troubleshooting procedures once you have a code. So you could replace the sensor and still have the problem.
