Default 2001 Chevy Suburban Dome Lights

I bought a 2001 Chevy Suburban from a dealer on Monday and the Dome Lights are not working. I went and bought new bulbs thinking that might help but it doesn't. I have no dome lights in the suburban at all.

Do they not work if any of the doors are opened?

The next step is to pull the lamp switch module out and check for voltage in and out for the dome lamps...
Might even be as simple at reseating the connections themselves...
