Default 2001 Suburban brake issues

Hello all,

I hope someone can help me. I have a 2001 suburban 1500 with 110k and lately when I am slowly turning into a parking space my brake pedal will start to pulse( like when stopping on ice) but the road is dry. This concerns me because my wife drives this vehicle with my children in it. When this happens the vehicle is very difficult to stop. This also happened once when exiting the interstate. What is causing this? I just replaced all the rotors and pads about 10,000 miles ago. The fluid is fine and the pads a rotors are still good. Any help will be appreciated.

any lights or warnings on? sounds like the abs is trying to take control when it shouldn't...

No lights, and nothing showing on my code reader. The light works because it lights up with the rest when I first start it up.

I had a similar problem at slow speeds when braking. I replaced the abs wheel/speed sensor and it fixed the problem.

Default ABS sensor

my guess was also the wheel speed sensor.

I'm a novice mechanic at best. Is this something fairly easy to replace, and do you think this might be a dealer item only?

If I remember correctly, I talked to my pops about getting mine cause I get intermittant abs lights and for my 2wd they are around 5-600 but thats dated info, could be different now... as for the work, not something you want to tackle in the driveway.

Default sensor

sensor for mine was like $30 maybe? it's held to the hub / bearing thing with one bolt and one clip...

at least it was on my '95.

advance auto web site will list the part and price. front wheel speed sensor.
