Default 2001 Suburban Fuel Miles

Hello All,

My 01 used to get 17 mpg highway and after watching some tv shows I tried some addons. With a K&N cold air intake, E3 Spark plugs and Royal Purple oil. My mpg has dropped to 15. Any ideas why.

Thanks

The cold air intake. I've experimented with splitfire plugs and was very dissatisfied with the results (poor mileage and cold plug). Never heard of E3... A good platinum should work fine. Never heard of royal purple oil either.

I have used slick 50 in several of my vehicles. The most notable a '92 chevy pickup with 240K miles and did not use oil. Another nissan pickup with over 300K, but some oil use (I bought that one used at 60K miles)
