Default 2001 Tahoe Ceiling Fan

Hey all,
I have a 2001 Tahoe. There is a little fan in the headliner above the driver seat. I think the bearing has gone bad or something because all it does is buzz and drive me crazy. Does anyone know what this thing is for and how to just disconnect it? Thanks.

Welcome to the forum.

If it's the same as the GMT900s, it's part of the auto temp control. If you disconnect it, at best your system will probably respond slowly and at worst will cause the HVAC to quit altogether.

Might try pulling out and see if bearings can be lubed.
