2001 tahoe fuel mileage
Hello all I'm a newb here and I'm sure this has been asked a trillion times but my fuel mileage is suffering big time. I'm averaging 12.5 mpg with a 5.3 2wd with 3.73 rear end. I'm absolutely babying my tahoe around town and i just don't understand. I had to replace the fuel pump and when i did i replaced the in line filter and evap canister. I also just replaced plugs and wires and it has a clean k and n air filter. what can i be missing here. it's got 146000 miles and this mpg doesn't seem right. any input is greatly appreciated. dad has a 4wd 2005 truck and he avgs 15-16 in town. i'm aggravated.

I have a 01 burban, get about 14 with the a/c running. ain't been running it non-stop lately and my mileage has improved.
and I'm not real nice on the skinny pedal.
one thing that I didn't think of was tire pressure. I have 265/75 r 16 bfg all terrains and the tire says the max pressure is 65. I went and checked all four tires and they were all @ 27-28 psi. I aired up to 55 and I'll see what the difference is. i can already tell that it coasts much much further now @ this pressure. hpefully this makes a big difference
