I'm guessing that it's in the plastic cover over the rear wheel, probably just inside the intake grill.

Welcome to the forum.

Probably a typo but don't know what a plam is.

This is an old thread. Might repost as a new thread w/ year and model info.

Your resistors are bad. High is full voltage. Low and medium are run through 2 separate resistors to lower the voltage to the fan motor. You need a new resistor pack.

I dont recall having only Low, Med, and High. I believe My controls had multiple speeds and each was a small increment. Much nicer than the new crap. Low, a little more, a little more again. HOLY CRAP TO MUCH! Cant stand it.

How did I have many little increments on my 02 instead of Low, Med High?

While I agree that the resistors may be the fault, you should also check the wiring between the resistors and the fan motor. Check to make sure there's voltage to the resistors.

I Have the same issue only the low(first) setting stopped working.

I presumed it was a resistor, just don't know where the rear blower resistors are located (let alone the rear blower motor or how to get into it)

Any help with the Rear location of the blower motor and resistors?

Also a part numbers would be great (2001 Tahoe Z71)!

Thanks, I've replaced the front main blower resistor in the past, is the rear blower resistor the same part number? Also does anyone have a simple way to get to the blower and resistor? Hints and tips so I don't break all the plastic pieces and clips would be of great help.
