I have an 02 suburban 1500. The rear ac works but the front doesn't. It's been acting funny for a while; the air wasn't coming out of the correct vents, then air would only come out of the defrost vents, and now, I can't get any air to come out of any front vents, hot or cold. I'm thinking it's the actuator, but in case there's more then one or if there's something else I should be looking at I wanted to ask here before I buy a part. My ex husband did replace the actuator once before and it worked for a year or so. I wouldn't have thought it would go out again already, but here we are.

I did the recalibration procedure, but that did nothing.

 

Today I took the actuator off of one of my other cars (I have 3 of the same suburbans) and the ac still doesn't work.

 

Oh, cool, now I can't get either actuator back on. The gear will not align with the hole.
However, I did determine that it's not the actuator. With the car on, turning the gear by hand does nothing.
