Hello all,
I have a 2002 Suburban Z-71. The Drivers side mirror has turned bronze and is hard to see out of. I thought this was odd, but when walking through a parking lot recently, I saw the same year and make as mine and the mirror was also fouled exactly as mine.
Does anyone know of what makes these mirrors glass turn brown???????
Easy to replace on my own??

Any help will be appreciated.

I believe the driver's side mirror is electrochromatic - it's tied to the sensor in the interior rearview mirror to reduce glare from headlights from the cars behind you. Sounds like something went wrong with that.

Yes, the mirror is easy to replace. Pop off the triangle trim piece on the inside of the door, pull out the foam, and you'll see three nuts and the harness plug. All you need is a 10mm socket and a pry tool.
