2002 suburban stereo issues...

Hey everyone! I got bored tonight and figured I would put in my aftermarket sony stereo. So i bought the Scosche instal kit and connector adapter to put it in. Get it all mounted and go to try it, the only function that can be heard is the radio, the aux, cd, and usb functions all seem to work (the equalizer still shows it as playing) but I get no sound out of the speakers.
The truck does have the tape deck (How can I get rid of that?) as well as the rear listening station. I noticed that there are a set of wires that went to the original stereo that seem to go to the tape deck, however the adapter kit did not have anything to put to that part.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

usually it's just plug and play. man i haven't put an aftermarket radio in, in years! use to always put one in my cars. that being said i would contact the harness manufacturer, or the radio manufacturer for troubleshooting. also if you've ever order from crutchfield, they offer lifetime support, and are awesome to work with. very helpful over the phone.
