Default 2002 tahoe front passenger window problem

My front passenger power window will not go up. There is power to the switch since you can activate switch and the window will go down. Are they any suggestions of what would cause this?
Thanks in advance for any advice,
Terry

So it will go down but not back up? I need a little more detail on what's happening. It is most likely your window regulator has gone bad.

Spencer,
You stated you need more details, I only know that I can move switch and the window will go down it wants to go up but seems to be sticking. I have not let it all the way down because of the possibly it not going back up. The window is stuck approximately 3" down now. This is about the only details I know now. Hope this helps. Thanks a lot for looking into this for me.

You might try removing the door panel and cleaning and inspecting the track, it may just be dirty and need to be greased.
If that doesn't resolve the problem, the regulator motor is probably going. Check the voltage at the motor when the switch is activated to ensure its not just a poor electrical connection and the motor is not getting enough power to push the window back up.
You should be seeing at least 11.95 to 12.5 volts.

Yeah, like in2pro said, it could just be a dirty track although I would think if that was the case then it wouldn't go down as easy. I'm pretty sure it's your regulator motor. About a year ago mine went out and I had similar issues. It would go down easily but never back up, the motor just didn't have the strength to do it. Replacement wasn't too bad, I did it myself in about an hour.

Hope this helps!

Thanks a lot for the advise. I will try the two options that you stated. Once I get the repair completed I will post it on this forum.

It's the regulator. I had to replace two in my '01 Suburban. Common problem on that platform.

I got my two off eBay. At the time, they were like $40 each.

I have the same problem with the front passenger window in my 2003 Suburban. Just ordered a new window regulator from Amazon. Hopefully that solves it.
