Tahoe & Suburban The power, space, and brutal towing ability make the Tahoe and its longer sibling, the Suburban, arguably the best full size SUV's on the market today.

Default 2002suburban 1500 4wd

Drives and brakes straight. Tires worn evenly. Makes no noise when driving on good roads. When driving on rough surfaces the front makes a clunking sound then it goes away until the next hole is encountered.

Front differential with problems? Have you lifted the car with the four wheels out of the ground and engaged the auto 4x4 and 4x4 to hear the noise?

Sounds like you have a bushing worn out.
But as to where...

Stabilizer Bar,
Shock,
Control Arm,
maybe a Ball Joint...
