I recently replaced the neutral safety/backup switch on my wife's 2003 Chevrolet Tahoe. After replacing the switch everything seems to work fine except the vehicle will now only start in neutral and when shifting through the gears going from park to the lowest gear the indicator light on the dash works fine. But when going from drive to park the indicator light seems to be one gear off. Meaning when the vehicle is in park the indicator light shows it as in reverse but the vehicle is actually in park and when you shut the vehicle off and then restart The indicator light shows it as being in park again. Would this be just a matter of removing the neutral safety switch again and assuring that the switch is in the neutral position and the gearshift is a neutral position and reinstalling the switch or is there something else wrong with this. Any help would be appreciated.
