Default 2005 suburban hood release cable
trying to remove the cable since it broke.. looks like it is running behind the parking brake pedal and I can not get to the grommet in the firewall. What do I need to take off to get this thing out?

do you have the scuff plate off? the plastic trim bezel behind the hood release lever?

oh yea, had the trim off... finally said screw it and just ran the cable in a different route. Works fine...
