The transfer case disengages when in the "2 hi" setting. Disengagement occurs while moving. The transmission appears to be engaged because shifting into neutral rests in grinding sound. Auto 4wd setting works, but is not desirable.
Anyone have this issue and know how to solve.

 

what do you mean disengages .... no power to any wheels?

Change the shift motor.
