Default 2005 Tahoe Drivers-side temp actuator

I am new to this site so if I am asking a question that has already been answered...I am very sorry. I searched and only found details for an Aveo. I have a 2005 Tahoe, 2WD, V6. It has dual zone front temp controls. I hear a click click click in the center of the dash and the drivers side will start blowing heat no matter what temp is selected on the control.

I think from my research that this is an actuator problem. Called Chevy Dealer and they said that it will cost between $250 and $500 dollars to fix. I am pretty handy and can probably fix it if I new what to do?

Does anyone have advice? Do you recommend any manual? Where do you recommend buying the parts? Is the Chevy Dealer way off with the cost? Is this a hard fix?

Thanks for reading my questions...

Welcome to the forum.

Best manual is the factory service manual.

Check gmpartsdirect for pricing.

Didn't know that Tahoes ever came w/ a V6. Typo maybe?
