Default 2006 Chevy Suburban Radio Intermittent Static.. HELP!

Hey All,

The radio on our 2006 Suburban makes anintermittent static noise that drives u nuts. No rhyme or reason when it happens. No On-Star, No XM just a stock radio with CD player (which doesn't work). I'd love to just put another stock junkyard radio in but I hear this unlocking deal could be costly. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks!

Does it do this on AM or FM too? Unless its the radio internals, I have seen co-axial cables where moisture got into the cable, messing up reception.I would think that would mess up your radio all the time, but you never know. Then again it might be the co-axial cable that's intermittent, perhaps with intermittent corrosion, driving the SWR's through roof. I used to install two-way radios in vehicles (before cell-phones) so I've seen it all.
