Default 2006 suburban with grinding noise w/accelerating

hi
new to forum for asking question but have read lots of your advice before!

We have a 2006 Suburban, just under 60,000 miles, 4WD, that in the last 3 weeks or so developed a noise when pushing the accelerator from stop ie: stop sign, stop light, etc.

I would describe it as a grinding or whining noise.

It is intermittent....so not every time but our concerns are peaked!

any suggestions ?

Welcome to the forum...

First things that come to mind are brake pads dragging due to caliper not releasing or the wear indicators on the brake pads

While I'm not a mechanic, I would suggest it is probably a wheel bearing.... just based upon your description of the problem and symptoms.

I’m sorry you are experiencing this issue with your Suburban vehicle. I agree with “netminder32”, it may be related to a bearing issue. I recommend consulting with a certified technician for an official diagnosis and repair option(s).

Please keep us posted.

If you have additional questions, please feel free to contact me privately.

noise only occurs with accleration....only intermittent,......not with turning .....only when hitting the gas pedal.....I have taken it to mechanic who said not differential and not wheel bearings...although they only shook the wheel on left driver side.
And I shouldnt 'worry' about it.

Noise started after brakes checked 2 months ago.

lost and very frustrated !!
