Default 2007 Suburban 155k miles

About 3 weeks ago I purchased a 2007 Suburban LTZ with 155k miles on it for a local dealer. Drove maybe 15 miles and had the oil pressure sensor/shut off engine light come on with the pressure showing at 0. Turned off car, waited about 10 minutes, started car again and everything was fine. Drove about 3 miles and had warning go off again, shut off car, waited 10 min, started again and was fine. Drove it another 4 miles to home and was fine. Picked up and installed oil sensor next day, ran fine. The day after that, the same thing started happening again. Dealer asked to see car few days later, drove it there with having to shut off every 3 or 4 miles again. Dealer replaced the screen and everything has been working fine until 2 days ago.

Now, oil pressure gauge is staying at 0, StabiliTrack indicator light comes on, check engine light is on, and DIC engine power is reduced warning comes on. The vehicle has never made any questionable noises until now. Its sounds like the engine fan is on and running at full speed. It struggles starting and is slow moving at first with maybe a few jerking gear shifts. Oil levels are normal with normal color.

Has anyone had any of these same problems together? Any suggestions?

Hey jklucas,

I am sorry to hear about your ongoing concerns with your Suburban and understand your frustrations. As we are not trained technicians we are unable to speculate on the information you are seeking that this time. Possibly a bad throttle body. What codes is is throwing? I was having similar issues minus the 0 oil pressure. Codes pointed to the throttle position sensor which is a non serviceable device that's part of the throttle body.

I had 0 oil pressure as well but I pulled the oil pressure sending unit, cleaned the screen and installed a new one and all was fine.

Also, low or 0 oil pressure could be caused by oil that's been run for too many miles. I've had that happen too. My wife kept resetting the oil change indicator when it came on and wasn't telling me. She went about 20,000 miles before the oil pressure started showing 0. I checked my oil change records and she admitted to resetting the change oil indicator. I changed the oil and filter and all was well.
