Default 2007 Suburban 2500 electrical issus

Hello,
I'm new to the forum so I hope this is a flame-free area I have spent a few hours searching forums and have some general ideas, but will post here just in case I can get more specifics.

I recently purchased a 2007 Suburban 2500 with 67k and it was great...for a few days!
I'll list what has gone wrong and in what order. I know there must be some major electrical issues but I'm hoping that this forum will give me a starting point. I love working on cars and a DIY person in general...I don't want to take it in if I can fix it myself!

-Intermittent mirror temp and instrument cluster drops: the temp in the mirror would not show up at all, and along with it certain guage lights like the "tow haul" light or other little indicators wouldn't work, then randomly would. The message center still works though and all the gauges and backlighting

-Rear air would only blow hot. Searched and checked the drain tubes in the back, they are totally clear...

-Passenger windows, front and rear, froze in place. They will make a clicking sound but won't operate, neither from the driver's panel nor the controls on each door

-Driver's power seat froze in place. I think this may have been at the same time the windows froze. I did some searching and will check each of the large fuses in the main panel in the engine compartment and by the steering column. But still, something is making them blow, which concerns me more.

-"Service air bag" message displays. This is the one my wife does not like seeing

-I'll also head down and have an autozone pull codes, but have not done that yet. I will also disconnect the battery and short the wires and re-check all the fuses and grounds. But if someone has had this specific problem before and fixed it, I'd love to hear what worked for you.

Thanks and have a great day!
Tim

Welcome to the forum.

Since all of these problems seem to have occured at about the same time, I'm thinking you have some bad connections someplace with the BCM. I assumed that all these functions worked properly when you bought the vehicle.

Yes that is correct; they have all happened within the last 5 weeks after purchasing it. I'll look into the Body Control Module and see if I can make any headway there.
Thanks!

Not to scare you but... check under your seats to see if the springs are rusty or look at the wire connections under the hood for rust, also you can pull the carpet up at the sill plates and look for silt. Just to rule out that it was not a flooded car. Now is about the time all the flooded Sandy cars will be popping up all over the US/Mexico.

There could be lots of things that could cause those issues you are haveing I am just saying that checking it for flood damage is a really easy first step since it is a new to you car.

I did get codes read and got 2:
"p0650 MIL Control Circuit Open...no possible causes or fixes" and
p1682 Ignition 1 switch circuit 2 malfunction...possible causes....ECM connector damaged or failed, powertrain relay failed, electrical center had failed."

So I'm trying to figure out where the ECM is? It is under the steering column by the BCM? I've done a bit of looking around online and in the Haynes but it does not give locations for the ECM.

Thanks for any additional help!
