Default 2007 Suburban Front Caliper sticking

My 2007 Suburban is having problems with the Front Drivers Side Caliper hanging up while driving down the road. I have found that when it hangs up, if I pull over and turn the engine off for a couple minutes, when I start it back up it is released. Can someone give me an idea what could be causing this? The other night the rotor was so hot, it was glowing read and smoking the pad. It was so tight that when I came to a stop and put in park to look at it and then put it back in gear to get farther off the road, I couldn't hardly move the vehicle. After I shut the engine off for about two minutes or so, and started it back up, it released and was fine after that. Thanks in advance for any advice.

Welcome to the forum...
Humm...shutting the engine off would release most of the vacuum built up in the booster... I guess it could be a master cylinder issue... but I would be more inclined to suspect the caliper or the brake hose....
