Default 2007 - Suburban - Onstar Location

I must admit there are some good things about Onstar but what bugs me is that the module in my wifes 2007 Suburban will not connect to her phone, her module does not have the bluetooth option (confirmed by dealer).

I have talked with GM Onstar and even had a friend who is a GM Rep try to get my unit upgraded but GM simply will not do it.

So, I found this device costartech.com - BlueSTAR
and talked to the designer of the unit and decided it was worth a try. They are currently working on software that will even allow the unit to unlock doors remotely if you happen to leave your keys in the car.

I hate to disable onstar but I am not going to pay for their phone service ON TOP of the bill I pay for a mobile phone.

So my question is - Where is the ONSTAR unit located in my 2007 Suburban?

I think its behind the bottom dashpanel under the radio . Held in place by a couple screws and tabs that will release when pulled .
