Default 2007 Tahoe LT with clunking/squaling when stopping

it's at currently 47K miles.

I hear this clunking/squealing noise when I either come to a complete stop or go over bumps or dips. It gets worse when there are more passengers and when I have AC on. What irritates me is when the truck is about to come to a complete stop. When I stop it squeals and clunks, but when I do dips/bumps it only squeals.

It squeals and clunks pretty badly that I though that the brakes were bad. I checked the rotors, pads and all other brake components and they seem to be working fine.

Anyone know what the problme would? May be it has to do with the driveshaft and may need lubricating as joints are dry, but it's my wild guess. Are driveshaft issues covered under the powertrain warranty by the way?

Thanks in advance.

Welcome to the forum.

Yes driveline issues should be covered under the 5 yr/100K Powertrain warranty.

Does this noise only occur under braking?

Your engine, transmission, transfer case, and drive system are all covered by the 5 year 100,000 mile powertrain warranty. I would suggest having this problem checked on by a dealership. I hope this helps you.

I had the same issue on my 2007 Tahoe and Silverado. It ended up being the spline for the u Bolt of the drive shaft. The spline dries up and makes that noise. They used their special GM grease and greased it up and its fine now but they said it may need it every several months.
