Tahoe & Suburban The power, space, and brutal towing ability make the Tahoe and its longer sibling, the Suburban, arguably the best full size SUV's on the market today.

All we can do it keep putting out the word, and tell everyone that has this issue to contact GM and their dealer. I am thinking about generating a complaint against GM with the BBB after I get my Dash replaced on the 29th.
I am paying $200, I hope for a recall, but either way, even though I think the Tahoe is the best looking SUV on the road, this maybe my last GM product. I have only owned GM from day 1.

If you can, get a pic of the underneath side of the old and new to see if there was a design change which would be evidence that they knew there was a problem.

shark, I think there is a new design or at least they changed something because the color and texture is slightly different than the other dash piece closest to the windshield.

Is it a coincidence that several of these cracked dashes are in Texas?

lol

Well, we Texans do tend to love our Trucks/SUVs, from soccer moms to ranch hands--never mind the fact we are a large percentage of the total US land mass and that most manufactors make a "Texas Edition"

I was told by my dealership that he thinks it was a manu defect on the 1st few runs and has nothing to do with TX sun/summers. There are a few fasteners that secure the dash from below that may cause stress over time - they crack in the same spots basically

Mine hasn't cracked yet but I always inspect it and also noted that the dash does pull down at 2 points that appear to be fasteners and they do seem to coincide with the crack points from the pictures I've seen...

I have a crack in the dash of my '07 Tahoe as well...
Texas made and it has been parked outside in the Texas heat for the first year and a half of ownership but garage kept ever since and I've owned it for 3+ yrs. Just thought I'd chime in on the dissapointment of this issue.
