Latest Update,
Scheduled my dash replacement for last Monday with the dealership. Picked up my Tahoe on Tuesday with new dash. Total cost was $200.00. Thanks again to Jeff and GM.

Happy to hear that you guys are getting your dash boards fixed. Unfortunately, there isn't a universal policy on the problem, so we all aren't being treated equally. This "case by case" business shows the subjectiveness being used to deal with the issue. Unless you are under full warranty, I am convinced that the dealership has a major say in whether they take care of the problem or not. The dealership must participate in the cost of replacement and the "deductible" is part of the equation.

My dealership (Jim Ellis Chevrolet - Atlanta) is almost adversarial on the issue. They totally deny that this is a wide spread problem. They claim that this is the first Tahoe or Suburban that they have seen with this problem and insinuate that I have a lot of nerve for even complaining, given that my car is out of warranty. You would think that 10 years of loyalty with 3 different vehicles would make you a valued customer.

bamafutbal,

My case number is 71-924830765 if that helps put the record out there. As Buckhead stated, I agree the dealership I think has a lot to do with it as well.
After the conference call I had with the dealership, and a GM customer care specialist, within 3 hours I received the call they had already ordered the dash to replace it. I guess I've been fortunate with the way this has turned out for me, I hope everyone can get there issue resolved.

I have posted on this thread before but here is my situation now.
I have a 2007 Tahoe. This is the 4th that I have owned. I have been dealing with this issue for the last 3 years and have nothing resolved. I am over my extended warranty, yes I do drive my truck. This should have nothing to do with the interior issues. I never recieved a recall about the door handles or any other issue. I have spoken to GM regarding this issue in the past ans was quoted $300 to have the dash fixed but at the time did not have the funds to have it done. 6 months later when calling back and ready to have the problem fixed I was told that they only keep claims open for 1 month and I would have to bring the truck back to the dealership to have them look at it AGAIN. When I did this they told me that they would cover half and I would now have to come out of pocket almost $900. I am so fustrated over this issue and the lack of responsibilty being taken. I paid a lot of money for a beautiful vehicle. I am sure once I trade it in to ungrade the value will drop over this issue. I have 3 friends with the same cracks and nothing is being done.

Unhappy Dash Getting Fixed

After two vists to the Chevy dealership and a $900 quote to fix the TWO cracks in my 07 Tahoe, I contacted Jeff, the GM rep on this thread, and he took action immediately. I was contacted by him and he got an innitial report, then the next day I was contacted by a district rep who further investigated the issue and contacted the dealership. Two days later, the district rep called me back to take my Tahoe back to the dealership and speak with the supervisor. The supervisor at Paridise Chevolet in Temecula was very helpful and honest about the issue (has seen it several times in the past) and offered to fix the issue for $200. I accepted the offer and will follow up with everyone with the final results. Please contact Jeff and get your case started to get this ugly eye sore fixed in your truck.
