File a complaint online with the National Highway Safety Transportation Administration https://www-odi.nhtsa.dot.gov/ivoq/ if enough people file then they will fix it

Default 2007 Chevy Suburban LTZ cracked dash

I did get a very quick response from GM after going to a Chevy dealer down here in South FLA. After reveiwng my case and getting some positive input from the Chevy service director at Maroone Chevrolet in Delray Beach Fl, who was a great guy and was really concerned, GM said that they would pay a little less then half the cost of a new dash. That would run me about $445.00. I really do not have a choice. I can't stand looking at that crack and it does devalue the truck. GM said due to the fact that it is out of warranty and does have 79,000 plus miles, that would be the best they can do. I am going to get it done within the next two weeks. Hope this helps everybody out there.Good Luck!

That is about the cost of the part, so they are doing the work for *free*
Do follow up on filing with the National Highway Safety Transportation Administration

I just bought a 2007 Yukon XL and there is two crack on a dashboard. One above the steering wheel and the second one buy the passenger airbag. I'm the second owner and this vehicle has 72000mi on it. I called GM at 1 (866)790-5700 Ext. 41327. Case number 71-1123238547. Than took this vehicle to local GM dealer at
Go Buick GMC Park Meadows‎.
8101 East Parkway Drive
Lone Tree, CO 80124
(877) 393-1964
But Everybody says that warranty is expired on the vehicle, and they can not help. Even GM rep says it's not a defect. Please, let me know if there is something that you can help with. Thank you.

Reply to Roman31,
My advice to you is to use my example of what GM and the Chevy dealer did for me. My warranty has also expired. You need to have the dealership back you If they can do it for one, they can do it for someone else, like you. Please feel free to call me anytime.

Contact them. They know that this is an issue and has been an issue for many people like us. They will do something. They cannot do for one and not for the other. I'm bringing my Suburban in next week to have done. It's $450.00 that I have to spend. That cracked dash is a big negative. Let me know if I can help.
Good luck!

+1 Do contact GM and your dealer, also report it to the National Highway Safety Transportation Administration, this will help draw attention to the issue... GM may be saying its not a defect but this thread says differently...

Default dash craxked and more

I have a 2007 Tahoe LTZ and my husband has a 2008 Silverado LTZ both have cracks in the dash. Tahoe is the left of the hump and left of the airbag (passenger), Silverado is right side of airbag (passenger). Tahoe has door handle coming off, noise in the rear, and steering wheel peeling. It is out of warranty but feel that since this is such a huge issue with 100's of other people. Jeff Morris I would greatly appreciate if you could contact me via email summerknight80@gmail.com
