2007 tahoe ltz dash has cracked????????
Great day my dealer fixed my dash without any questions. That's the way GM should handle all complaints of the cracked dash problem just take it in and fix it no long drawn out problems with Chevy or GM customer service.
By any chance did you buy it new there and get it serviced there?
I bought it used there on July 10. I have purchased other vehicles from them and also serviced other Chevys that I hadn't bought from them there. Its a 2008 Suburban LTZ. This dealership knows customer service and how to treat customers. I guess they know when I am ready for another Chevy I will come back to them. Also this Suburban is out of warranty. Now if GM could learn this type of customer service they would not be losing future customers
Just talked to my local service mgr and he said he has a blanket "ok" from chevy to replace the dash for 100 bucks. I have a 2007 silverado with no extended warranty.
It's such a huge problem that he has a stockpile of them he carries on hand in every color.
The stipulation for the blanket "ok" was it had to be the original owner and under 100K miles. He ok'ld mine site unseen and told me exactly where both cracks were located even though he hasn't seen the truck.

Mine is cracked on my 07 Tahoe. I got jerked around by chevy for almost a month before they told me that I would have to pay $550 to get it replaced. I kept saying how many times I have seen where people only have to pay $100 dollars to get it replaced and all they would tell me was "It's decided on a case by case basis." I asked the lady to explain to me what is considered when they figure out how much they are going to make people pay and she said she didn't have to tell me.

Thanks for sharing your experience with attempting to get your dash repaired...
Are you by chance the original owner and have less then 100k miles at the time?

Negative ghost rider, I just bought the truck at the end of may with 94k miles on it. I called another dealership and talked to their service manager and he said he would talk to his contact at GM and see if he could get any more help for me.
One thing I'll say to be fair to the dealer...I always have my truck serviced (oil change)
at my local dealer. Mostly because I'm lazy and for 40 bucks it ain't worth messing with (synthetic blend), I also have all my service in the computer, but also because if something goes wrong, even though it is out of warranty, the first question the GM rep will ask the dealership is about the service history of the vehicle. Also most dealers will really go to bat for you once you've developed a relationship with them....they know the car and they know the owner. I have had problems that I'm not going to pay the dealership to do (I'm not a rich guy) but will still ask their advise on how to go about getting it fixed and they help me out, and then I save a lot of money by taking care of it myself.
I find it's always good to have someone inside the system that can get things done better then I can outside the system. Just my 2 cents...
Support your local dealer...don't take out your frustration with the corporation on them. I have been a chevy fan for my whole life, I love the way they run and look.
GM has sold out to China and we as taxpayers have payed the price...The dealers on the other hand are just trying to keep their doors open and food on their table, in spite of GM constantly screwing them. My dealer, for example, was forced to do a total renovation of the dealership to the specs of GM and had to pay for it out of their pocket....it hurt them, but because of the relationships they made with the community by trying to treat them right, the community stood by them and supported them.
Sorry for the long rant....over
