2007 tahoe ltz dash has cracked????????
I got a follow up call from GM today, they are going to repair it at my convenience.
On a side note, I was asked quite a number of times if I was the original owner.
Cheers,
Gene
Just stumbled across this forum while insisting to my husband that it's not the road I take sometimes causing my newly found crack in my 2010 Tahoe's dashboard. I've been told its very common for the dash to rattle so I guess this is linked to that too. My chrome inside handles are also peeling like everyone else's.
I guess since Chevy CS monitors this, I should add this: I've owned close to 30 vehicles in the 32 years I've been alive. When I bought the Tahoe I really wanted something different. However, I'm the daughter of a 44.5 year GM mechanic so I stayed true to the company through it all. My Dad will be buying his last vehicle soon to replace the 92 S10 he drives, and since he will retire before too long, my loyalty will more than likely retire with him. I've had a few factory defect issues, one was a major paint peel on the Impalas in 03. I didn't buy top of the line to have major problems. I ONLY stuck with GM because I KNOW who touches my vehicles. And it's pretty sad when you stay loyal only to have problems that can't or won't be fixed. Believe me, once my ties to the dealership are cut, I'll start buying what I really want instead! So CS can save their time contacting me, I know too much and have inside connections to their problems to believe their BS!

Add me to the list of cracked dashes... This is unreal, this is my 4th tahoe/yukon over the years and three of them I bought brand new. My current tahoe which I purchased used from a co-worker is a 2008 LTZ and I noticed a 3 inch long crack that is starting on the left side of the hump. Spoke to the dealer today and they want 975.00 to replace it
This is crazy. I had buddy that had the same issue on his 2007 last year and the dealer only charged him 250.00. What gives?? I guess from reading here that this is mostly a waste of time.

Regulator26 welcome to the forum...
You may not be getting any break on the replacement cost as you are not the original owner... seems like some of the prerequisites are that 1) you are the original owner 2) that you have less than 100,000 miles

My 2010, just out of warranty cost me $100.00 and I got it fixed yesterday. Thanks to the Customer Service people on this site. Sure glad I found it !!
This is my fault because I should have reported the crack when my vehicle was in warranty. A little research goes a long way.
This old boy is a Very happy GM Owner !!
Cheers !!!

Have you had a chance to have GM Customer Care look into this for you? You can certainly private message us your name, VIN, address, phone number, and the name of your GM dealership. I look forward to hearing from you.

I have a 2007 Tahoe and my dash has not cracked, nor have my handles peeled, nor does it consume any oil....
So there are lots out there that are doing just fine...
If mine does have issues , I'd pay the $100 also, just to get it fixed and be done, a vehicle is a consumable item...
