Default 2007 TAHOE POPPING NOISE?

When I open the door to my 2007 tahoe i hear a popping noise from my speakers. It makes this noise everytime I open the door to get in. Does anyone else hear this sound? I dont think this is a big deal however I would like to know if this is normal? Thanks.

I have heard this too. Even when the door was closed. I think it's a short in the wiring for the speaker(s).

I hear it occasionally, not all the time..I really can't predict when it happens.

Mine just makes a "pop" everytime I open the door. Kind of a thud like an amp or something coming on and off. But it happens when my door opens!

Try defeating your dome lites and then opening a door. Could be the current surge to the lites. If so, it might be a bad ground somewhere. ZX/Dave probably has the answer.

This problem has been reported and they are looking into a fix.
What I think is causing the thump sound when the driver door is opened is that; the radio/amp is energized when the door is opened (it won't turn on unless they key is turned to on) but power is supplied to some components to ready the system for usage for up to 3 minutes if the key is not turned on.
There is a blue plug at the back of the radio that has a couple of bare (grounding) wires in it, one of these wires is usually too long and can sometimes make contact with other connectors depending on which connecters it shorts out against it can do anything from making a whining noise to lord only knows what, I’d have this checked to see if this wire is touching a neighboring connector, the fix is to simply pull the extra slack out of the bare wire and electrical tape it back.

Ours did this again yesterday... while we were driving. Can't recall if we hit a bump in the road, but no doors were open. Do I don't think it's related *just* to the open door issue. Might be some other issue with the amp.
