I am looking to buy a 2008 suburban and it has 3rd row bucket seats. My wife wants a 3rd row bench seat. I hate to turn this deal down. So my question is, are the bucket and bench seats interchangable.

I thought that the 07s were the only ones that had two options for the 3rd row. Is there a plastic bin between the two seats? Are there only two pair of seat belts? There is no one piece 3rd row bench in the GMT900s. There two separate seats w/ three pair of seat belts.

I suppose someone could have swapped the seats for the 07 separate 3rd row seats.

 

There are two seperate seats that have cup holders that meet in the middle. Will try and upload a pic soon

 

I didn't think those were available in 2008. But the buckets should fit.

 

I am in the Same Pickle. There is a 2007 Suburban for Sale with 3rd row buckets and my wife wants the 3rd row Bench seat to make it a 7 passenger instead of a 6 passenger. Can you swap out the buckets for a bench ? is it worth the hassle. the suburban is only $19k with 84k miles. I don't want to pass this deal up if its possible that a bench seat will interchangeably swap in .

 

My '08 Suburban came with what I call the "Escalade seats." A 6500-lb, almost twenty foot-long truck and it's only a 6-seater.

I went onto Ebay and bought the 2-piece bench seats to make it into a 7-seater. Cost was about $750, but compared to the $23,000 I paid for the truck, it was a bargain. I still have the Escalade seats sealed up in two boxes in the basement.

The two different types of seats have exactly the same mechanisms. Simply remove the Escalade seats, and drop in the regular seats. Easy peasy.
