I was the at LA Auto Show over the weekend where they unveiled the 2008 Tahoe Hybrid. I was pleasantly surprised to find that it has LED tail lamps! I wasn't able to get a picture, but I can tell you that they are different from the Escalade lamps in that the lower part of the tail lights have two rows of about 6 LED's each. The upper part above the back-up light was not illuminated at the show, so I can't say how may LED's, but I can tell you it looked significantly better than the "regular" Tahoe lights!

I spoke to one of the Chevrolet reps who informed me that the show vehicle has 100% production styling, so unless something chnages at the last minute, we'll probably be able to fit our non-Hybrid Tahoe's with LED's without havingto Mickey Mouse-wire Escalade lights!

I can see a retrofit in my future!!

ok from what i can tell the rear bumper is different the front one is obvious it looks more like the escalde lines and c pilars are also different. i also saw the mexican vesion on the net and it doesnt have the 3rd brake light wing and the tailights are clear but when i went to the dealership in mexico it is same as in the u.s.

 

I like the tail lights! I dont like them without the side molding.

It seems the fenders are different. They look beefier or something. On the rear of the running board it looks different?

All and all, not that facinated with it. If those are the new 20's, i like the old ones better. Happy with mine, but I would take some LED lights, hopefully it is an easy swap. However, it will probably be pricey!

 

Can't tell about the lights. I like the clean rear bumper & Where's the back-up sensors. I like the way the running boards are molded into the body. I would'nt need front mud guards with those.

They need to change the grille and add the fog lamps. I kinda like the side view mirrors too- no black plastic, painted to match vehicle color.

 

Probably hidden behind the bumper like the new Expeditions.

 

They axed that confounded roof rack, too. I wish they could come up with a cleaner way of covering the receiver hitch.

 

It's a truck! Not sure why you want to cover hitch. I thought that was where you put your favorite NASCAR driver's number or your college logo or the ubiquitous boat propeller.

Where's the tow hooks? Like the faired in running boards also.

 

It's a truck with a cavernous hole in the bumper cover. It looks ridiculous.
