2008 Tahoe LT Lift Gate Question?
Thanks to all that take the time to answer!!
The rear cargo lift gate/hatch on my Tahoe seems to be "lazy!" When I start to open it, it will raise about half way and then I have to help it the rest of the way? It stays up fine after I help it up. Is your gate/hatch like that?? I have had the lift gate "struts" replaced, but it still doesn't seem to work like my previous 4 Tahoes/Yukons.
Anyone know a better solution?
Thanks

If both of the assists have been replaced I would wonder if the hinges are binding or misaligned.
Is there any accessories mounted to the lift gate internally or externally that could be weighing it down?
I usually give mine a tug and a flip of the wrist and it goes right up, could it be the way you’re opening it?
Are you living in a cold environment and the lift assist just aint cutting it in the cold?

Thanks to all that responded. I was just trying to find out if I was expecting too much out of the lift assists, before I went back to the dealer again. I have already had them replaced once in less than a year!
No, I do not have any accessories mounted on the hatch nor do I live in a cold climate (?) Southeast Missouri

After reading your post, I realized that "sometimes" I have the same problem. It was a little cold when it happened. On normal Miami weather days I didnt have a problem, but if you give it a little push when you open it, it helps. I wonder how difficult it would be to add the power liftgate... hmmmmmm
