found a total of 7 bent push rods and impressions of intake valves on pistons. Found a vendor to do a long block. From the difference in discoloration of push rods this could have been a second set of push rods on the right bank. So for, I do not have positive post for Chevrolet and general motors in general.

I’m interested in hearing the rest of the story. Where the pistons damaged and did you ever figure out why the pushrods bent?

Thanks.

The problem was a cam shaft failure. Cam lobes were worn down and rollers lifters were damaged. Unable to remove lifters from bore. Replaced engine. Still nothing positive to say about a Chevrolet product. will never buy another.

Thanks for letting us know. Sure sounds like an oiling problem. I wonder if there was an o-ring problem at the pump. Anyway; feel the pain.

I used to make a good living off of them just with warranty failures.. Then when customer pay would come around I would just have to wait until some shade tree did their butchering and then I would go behind them and repair.
