Tahoe & Suburban The power, space, and brutal towing ability make the Tahoe and its longer sibling, the Suburban, arguably the best full size SUV's on the market today.

Default 2010-14 Burb's- What year is most reliable?

I'm looking at changing around the composition of my "fleet" and am looking at picking up another Suburban- used with under 30K miles on it. I own a 2007 LTZ which does not have oil consumption, cracked dash or razor handle issues. This is one I'm keeping. The 09 Enclave and 04 4Runner are on the block.

I need a long haul vehicle with major cargo room. I use the Enclave for this now, but the Suburban has more room. Given the issues of the 07/08 Suburbans, I'm interested in feedback from the 2010-2014 owners and their experience. I'd like a vehicle with the ability to run 140-180K before it replaces my 07 as my utility vehicle.

I'm planning on buying something between now and March, most likely after the 1st of the year.

I have a 13 with 30k on the clock. Only issue was bad auto ride shock. No oil issues here either. Mobil 1 since new. Before it left the dealer . Hd towing etc. I would say the 13-14 would be the best since all or most of the kinks were worked out.

Look at the 2500 Burbs, if you don't mind the lower mileage. No AFM, and under the body, they're completely different trucks. Much more reliable and bulletproof, IMHO. I'm looking at buying a second 2500 for my teenage daughter. I fully expect at least 250k from my 08.

A friend of mine said they're not making the 2500's any more? Is that so?

Yes. 2013 was the last year. They're pretty rare, but awesome trucks. Only 5867 were built in 2008, according to my build sheet.
