Angry 2010 tahoe

Just learned that the 6.2 engine will not be available and heard rumor that only AWD, not 4WD will be available.

Should know more in a week.

Update: The regular 4WD will still be available as an option but the standard 4WD will no longer come w/ 4LO.

Wow that would have been a deal breaker for me.
I bought the 6.2L for towing and use 4 lo to pull the boat up the ramp.

I was looking at the Denali but did not want the AWD. No 4 Lo. I think its a tad less towing capicityas well.

Default low

I also tow a boat, a 26' Chris Craft cuddy; that has to be pushing 6,000 lbs... even my 5.3L in 2WD high has no problem taking it out of the water... why use 4 low?

with the LTZ model stating 'no offroading' about 3 times in the manual... 4 low is something thats really not needed.

I would have liked an AWD model...

I have my wrangler for 4-low... a 4:1 transfer case infact on 35" tires lol...

the tahoe's are just too big for the trail...

AWD made sense for the first time ever last winter... usually you plan for snow/ice by putting it in 4WD... well, wet road. stop sign. I was 100% stopped. Give it gas to GO... back wheels spin on ice that I did not see. By not going NOW I risked being hit by someone coming down the street.... AWD would have just gone about the business of making the truck go and I would have never noticed...

My Fiancee's (i can't spell) Tribute is AWD and it works great in the snow!

Why use 4 low.....I really should not post this. I tow a 13k boat
My 2000 actual towed it decent. Take offs were slow.
I have triple disc brakes with electric over hydrolic to make sure I can stop.
I have not towed with the new truck yet. I would assume it should be better 280 hp vs 395 and more TQ as well.

I always used 4 low to pull it up the ramp. It would crawl right up in 4 low.

The ramp I use is very steep, so 4LO works well. About the only time I use it. Anyway you can still get it in 2010.

Default towing

Isn't 13,000 lbs somewhere around WAY over the tow rating of this vehicle?

yes it way over. The 09 should do better than my 2000 though!!!! haha Really no excuse. I dont go to far about 5 miles to the boat ramp. I would think the brakes and engine are really ok. just the Small chasis compared to the 3/4 ton.

Dont the know realibilty of the 6-speed yet.

Now I understand that the dealers can't order a 2010 'til Oct.

Default 2010

the voice command for my 2009 sat nav destinations still doesn't work since new... anyone think I could convince GM to give me the head unit from a 2010?! it's been almost 3 months now with no fix... they tell me they can't 'compensate' me until they have a 'fix'...

I hear the 2010 has USB and a hard drive vs the 09... perhaps they fixed a few of the other 200 things that are wrong w/it...
