We recently purchased a 2011 yukon
We can't get the liftgate open
and the remote doesn't work
We can't seem to find a button to manually open any ideas?

Not sure on a Yuk but the inside tailgate switch in my '11 Tahoe is up on the ceiling console. It does have a lock setting also on that console switch. Forward setting of switch is the lock setting. Rearward push opens and switch springs back to a center position to stay in unlocked mode. Tailgate latch is electronically actuated by inside or outside switch there is no manual lever like a side door.

 

Wouldn't there be a button to help open?
I see nothing

 

On the outside there is a rubber strip inside the handle. It's a switch you depress to activate the electric hatch latch. No mechanical latch mechanism.
