2012 SSV Tahoe falling on face (only certain times)
Hey guys. Been a member for a while now. Mostly lurking around and reading...not a lot of posting.
At work we run 4 Tahoes (each deputy has their own take home tahoe). 2 2013s and 2 2012s. 3 are 4x4. 3 are SSV 1 is PPV. All of our vehicles are running flawlessly except for one.
One of our 2012 4x4 SSV Tahoes has a fairly strange issue.
While travelling along at speed (any speed above 20mph) if the accelerator is pressed, the tahoe will "bog down/stall" (for lack of a better term. It feels like the brakes are being depressed) for 2-3 seconds before accelerating. When the power does return to the powertrain, it feels like the power just dumps and usually chirps the rear end (at higher speeds it actually causes the rear end to slide around and almost resulted in an accident).
The motor is not mis-firing or stalling when the issue occurs. The motor just stops applying power to the drivetrain.
The tahoe is throwing NO codes. We even had our local mechanic ride along and pull live data while re-creating the issue. Still no solid answers.
I have been poking around online for about an hour now trying to search for any/every combo of chevrolet, tahoe, falling on face, etc. Still no luck with finding an answer...maybe I am not using the right set of keywords.
Would you guys have any ideas we can look in to before taking it to a stealership? Our closest chevrolet house is a 1.5hr/90 mile drive (one way) so we try to avoid going to the chev house if at all possible.

Our tahoe was dropped off at the chev house at 830am. We had a tech ride along with us so we could reproduce the issue.
The Tech said he had a 2013 tahoe with 3K miles sitting in the shop that displayed similar symptoms. He continued and stated that the 2013 issues ended up being related to the torque converter.
So we will see what the outcome is.
