2014 Frame Rust
Purchased a 2014 Suburban a couple of months ago. Was installing some exhaust modifications and noticed rust on the frame rails anywhere anything was attached to the frame. I took it into the dealer and they forwarded pictures to GM's area rep. They have a TSB out on this problem. They say that the frames are covered with a wax product to protect them and it is coming off. I am supposed to take mine in and they are going to clean the frame and recoat it best they can without performing a frame off restoration.

get a can of ACE-RUST STOP gloss black and go to town on the underside.
driveshafts, axles, etc etc. I blacked out my muffler and tail pipe too.

Dito... except I did not do the drive shaft as that rust is protective for the most part, however I did black out the tail pipe and resonator along with the shield behind the spare tire...I used BBQ grill flat black paint....
It really keeps the underside looking clean because everything is black and you can't really see it!

Frames rust.Any place that coating gets scratched off in the future, it will rust. Unless you're planning on keeping it for 50 years or making it a show truck, don't worry about it.

Black out
The muffler on the JK sticks out like a sore thumb
Painting the Muffler?
Mine is all blacked out.
Unless you're looking for it, you don't really see it any more. It's very noticeable shiny metal.
If I buy anything new I plan to disassemble and paint before any rust can occur.

I no longer have to worry about the resonator showing, it is gone. I installed the SLP stainless dual tip exhaust and resonator eliminator pipe. Also installed Magna flow muffler.
