Default 2015 Suburban Control Arms

My 2015 Suburban (65,000 miies) has excessive uneven wear on the front tires despite regular alignments. The last time in the shop he said ball joints were bad. He also mentioned that this was a known issue on this model year with aluminum control arms and chevy has since redesigned the control arms to address it. He suggested I talk to the dealer or GM to try to get help on the parts since this was a known problem. Not much hope there. I do have an extended warranty but since this is wear related I doubt much help there either. Is his assessment accurate? Wanted to see if anyone on here has had luck getting GM to cover this given the circumstances.
