Default 2015 Tahoe front shocks

Hello all, I've got a 2015 Tahoe LTZ 4WD with 65000 highway miles that now has bad front shocks. Dealer said that'll be $1850 after we replace them and align the front end...OUCH! Any thoughts or ideas? How do they just go bad? My last 2007 Tahoe had 167000 when I traded up to this 15, never any suspension problems. Thanks

You can go to a good tire dealer and have the same work done for less than half of that amount. You should be doing an alignment regularly anyway to get more miles out of your tires. Just the shocks alone should be reasonable other than at a dealer.

Bryan: Welcome to the forum.

How did they determine that the shocks were bad?

replacing a shock shouldn't change the alignment...

the front would be struts and at 65k if it hasn't been it needs aligned anyway. I am curious how/why they say they are bad though.
