2016 Tahoe LT Mylink issues - possible issue with Carplay
I'm hoping someone can help me out with this one.
I have a brand new Tahoe (less than 3 days) , and having trouble with the Mylink system.
In the first 3 days the system has froze , rebooted approx a dozen or more times.
What I've noticed is it seems to be related to Carplay. With Carplay it seems to get confused and will lock up using Carplay but also I noticed it will lock up even though I'm not using Carplay features.
What I was able to do was to turn off carplay, use bluetooth only which seems to resolve the problem however turning off Carplay before the system locks up can be a challenge. Carplay defaults to 'ON' even though you turn it off in setup. It will automatically try to reconnect the next time you start the SUV.
(It's also complicated by the fact the Iphone does the same, it will try to reconnect to any carplay device , no way to turn it off). I get this is a convenience feature to auto connect but its not so convenient when the system freezes as a result.
A couple of questions:
1.) How do I know I have the latest software? / where do I go to get the latest version of the software? (hard to believe a new SUV doesn't have the latest and greatest version but like any device the factory OS maybe older than the current release)
2.) Do i need to schedule the truck for service to get it resolved? Is it resolvable? I've read a number of post about similar issues , not seeing posted the issues has been resolved.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
