Default 2017 Tahoe LT Seat Position Recall Memory

I just purchased a new to me 2017 Tahoe LT with a key type entry system and fob not the RKE. I had to purchase a key and fob and have it programed by the dealer. It comes up as key 3 and 4. I would have thought it would be 1 and 2. The big issue is that the seat memory is only activated by pressing the 1 or 2 button until the seat moves into the stored position. I enabled the functions in the vehicle personalization section. I would think that the seats would move into position after the appropriate key is inserted. The service rep led me to believe that I am mistaken. What do you think? Thanks in advance.

the original keys were programmed into the #1 and #2 key slot positions. Your to keys were added later in the #3 and #4 slots.

had the technician known that you didn't have the first 2 sets of keys...he would have deleted all keys and then programmed your keys. This would have put them in the #1 and #2 positions.
So there are 2 sets of keys out there that you don't have that can start your truck...go back and have all keys deleted and your current keys programmed. Its a failure of the sales dept to tell the tech the first 2 sets are lost.

Will this allow the seat to move to the 1 or 2 stored position when one of the reprogramed keys are placed in the ignition?

yes...the vehicle will now recognize your keys at slot 1 and 2 and move the seat accordingly

I went back to the dealer and they removed all the existing keys then installed them as 1 & 2 and everything functions as it should. Thanks for the rock solid replies.
