I have a 4T65e Transmission and it is the upgraded model of yours but is about 99 percent similar. Rewrite that a little better and maybe I can offer you some help and tell you how to fix it. As you write it though I can not understand a lot of it. No start 3rd or drive. Ok get that part, shifts all gears but only 10mphs??? The last part I totally can't make out.

Or is that a 4L60E transmission you are referring to? Either one I can diagnose for you as my books long covered every model of transmission. I just need more solid type questions and statements to help. I can tell you more or less from what I read some ideas but would prefer better writing if you need help.

I assume you are referring to drive as overdrive not just general since you said you can start in first and 2nd. That is quite questionable as you say you can obtain the other gears which is odd. I know that if you have only 1st and 2nd gear your (B Solenoid stuck on) If there is foreign material in the solenoid, the PCM signal is grounded or the solenoid return wire to ground is pinched, check the 2-3 shift solenoid ON failure. Can you offer anymore to what your problem is or is that all you can see right now? The more you know the more I can help you on this. You could have bad fluid and filter, your 2-3 shift valve or the 3-2 manual downshift valve is stuck, nicked or, damaged, then you have to check the control valve assembly. There's a few other reasons I can list as well that follow into those guidelines of a NO 2-3 shift. The more you can offer the more I could help assist though.

If you have all the proper equipment and can get the transmission out or can get to the valve body side easy I would try replacing the shift solenoid first. Easiest way to check if they are bad is to run to jumper wires to your battery positive and ground and run the other side to the positive side and ground side of your solenoid and see if it clicks. It could also be stuck as well. Either way if it is stuck or sticking I would replace it and more or less replace any other solenoids as the kit is only around 80 dollars typically and saves you the headache of having to dig into that side again for another minor solenoid especially if the 1-2 shift solenoid goes next or the EPS or that.
