Hi all. I just bought a 1999 tahoe 4wd from a buddy. I knew the tranny had problems and was planning on getting it overhauled. But this afternoon i was talking to another friend who just bought a wrecked 2000 s 10 and he said that he thought they might be compatible. The tahoe has a 350 and the s10 has a 4.3. Any thoughts on how to check the compatibility? Thanks!

yeah they use the same trans, but I don't know if the bellhousing is the same or not as far as bolting up... may have to get an adapter kit but if he hooks you up cheap, an adapter and handmedown trans is prolly cheaper than a rebuild, plus you can have the old one redone or have it ready for rebuilding.

Thanks. I've had couple of others say similar. A couple of guys said that they were the same except for the servo?
