Bought a 96 Tahoe with bad trans. Only had r,1, and 2...
I figured thev3-4 clutches were bad based on internet info. The trans was rebuild about 3 weeks ago and the recent problems were because the previous owner ran it with lowvfluid after the rebuild. Upon dissasemble I noticed a lot of metal shavings and a lot of scaring on the outside of the main drum. Othervthen that , every tooth, gear, clip, clutch is in perfect condition. No scoring what so ever.... What could be the issue for drum scoring and no 3 rd gear? I'm assuming the valve body....
